As a relevant aside, Amazon put the entire introduction to my book on the Web, as well as other material and in fact they scanned the ENTIRE book into their system so that it is now searchable. This is the internet era.

Wow, Carl, if you stop focusing on things you think other people are doing wrong and stop complaining, you'll have a much happier life. And maybe your first friend??

Uhh, this is the internet. Where have you been in the last 10 years?

Your analogy is triply false. First, I didn't "steal" this cartoon -- I got it FROM the web! Second, I didn't reprint "all" of this guy's cartoons. Third, the phrase "published them on their own" implies I was claiming his work as my own, which I obviously wasn't. You'll need to come up with better criticisms.

Joe, how much are you paying the owner of the copyright of this cartoon? I bet you're not paying for it at all. In other words, you're stealing it.

How would you like it if someone stole all the words from your book and published them on their own?
