Technologies to sequester CO2 must not preclude biological ocean sequestration, since the oceans cover 70% of the earth and today are the sink for at least 50% of CO2 emissions from all sources.

Please visit the following websites to learn more about BIOLOGICAL OCEAN SEQUESTRATION OF CO2: www.atmocean.com, www.climos.com, www.planktos.com.

Senator Alexander (R - Tenn.) introduced an amendment to place a Low Carbon Fuels Standard in the Warner-Lieberman bill. The Low Carbon Fuels Standard was first adopted by California as a method to scientifically measure the carbon reductions achieved by a particular fuel. The amendment was adopted with Senator Baucus' support.

Montana followed in California's footsteps by adopting the Low Carbon Fuels Standard into the policy recommendations of the Governor's Climate Change Advisory Council. Information from S.A.V.E., the non-profit that authored Montana's policy, is available at http://www.savemobile.org/blog/2007_12_01_archive.html

Kudos to Senator Baucus. A Low Carbon Fuels Standard is a step in the right direction to make sure that we make effective steps to reduce our carbon output while supporting rural economies with low carbon bio-fuels!
