The problem is there is nothing there.

From day one Bush’s m.o. is to say one thing to placate the public (and score political points based on the daily calculation) and then do nothing – or worse and more typically do virtually the exact opposite. One can rundown an endless list of initiatives.

It doesn’t matter what Bush says – Bush’s speech isn’t worthy of anything more than a drinking game.

It matters what McCain, Obama, Clinton and congressional leaders say. It matters what the press says. Bush will always live in an alternate reality – fortunately we won’t be subjected to it much longer.
