Sen. Inhofe reels off his disinformation on Senate floor

I suspect this floor speech may set the record for most misstatements in Senate history.

“The vast majority of scientists do not believe that anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are a major contributor to global warming.” [But time does not permit Inhofe to articulate this argument any further.]

“We support investments in solar, wind…”

“We are on the verge of a nuclear renaissance in this country….

“We must invest in clean coal technologies….”

“We cannot hold the future of coal hostage to this one technology” [carbon capture and storage].

“We have an almost limitless supply of natural gas available.”

“They Kyoto treaty expires next year.” [Not sure what he meant by this.]

“In the event that we act unilaterally … companies will move to China or India” [Well, yes, if the bill does not have any measures to deal with this issue, but it does.]

“Those who make $20,000 a year spend one third of their income on energy” [Not sure where he got that statistic.

“Nameless bureaucrats.” Turns out, they all have names.

“It will be impossible for companies in states that have other climate policies to remain competitive.”

“Simply borrowing credits from future years will only create a bigger problem later.” [Hmm. That one Actually makes sense. How did that get in there?]

“Will make us even more dependent on foreign sources of energy.”

[My head nearly exploded at that point, so I had to temporarily stick it in a vise.]

“The largest tax increase in the history of America.” [Said this twice. Would be true if it were a tax. But if My grandmother had wheels she would be a go-cart.]

  1. David B. Benson Says:

Just in case some lurker believes any of that stuff, I assure you, whoever you are, that the supply of natural gas is quite limited.

We do live on a finite planet, afterall.

What a lying worm that Inhofe is. I grow so tired of the shit he spews. When I see him, I just think how much he must hate all life on this planet.

    Andrew Rice for US Senate

    Hmm. Let’s check the deck.

I count, in no particular order, the two of clubs, three of spades, nine of spades, five of spades, queen of spades, king of clubs, ten of diamonds, jack of diamonds, six of clubs, king of spades, and many, many, many eight of spades (the deck’s been stacked, apparently). There may be more (and there certainly are in other Inhofe speeches), but this is just what I saw on a cursory glance.

Two of a kind (kings) isn’t a very strong hand, senator.
