The Palin-McCain “policy” is a nearly exact re-run of the Cheney-Bush one. The C-B plan listed everything that anyone had ever mentioned, such a complete laundry list that it was completely useless. Of course they knew that but it allowed them to say - as they have recently - that it’s not their fault if nothing has been done. No matter what the energy strategy, it’s in their plan. It is politics of the worst sort.

Notice how she also lies and pretends that she was against the Bridge to Nowhere. In reality, she supported the project, and Congress had already dumped the earmark after it became a national joke (and BEFORE she became Governor).

Her energy lies were awful, yes but the more heinous lies were the ones about the Iraq invasion and our stance on terrorism. She was parroting the Bush-Cheney-right-wing-nut doctrine and had swallowed their made-for-TV speech, HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER. The only words that were hers were the hockey-mom-turned-gov crap, some of which were also lies. If elected, I have to say, our USA-USA-USA stance toward the rest of the world will so incense our enemies and allies alike that our “drill, baby, drill” energy policy (gag me), no matter how bad, will be the very least of our problems. We could easily find that the new theater for war is US soil. The mere thought of a M-P ticket has now put an item right at the top of my TO DO list: apply for citizenship in Canada. I hear it might be getting warmer up there.

“Drill, Drill, Drill” is a wake up call to let us know that we have much more to do in the way of educating the American public.

People don’t fully understand that America is not sitting on a lot of oil.

People don’t fully understand that America could reduce our oil use to a small percentage of what it is now. And that we can move away from oil with no decrease in quality of life and at the same time greatly improve our economy.

Time for concerned people to do a lot more educating.

Does anyone think we actually can get a President who is NOT a “Beltway insider “? Power corrupts, and, “Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely”!

The next “king of the world” US President can recommend policy, but, it is the corrupt House of Representatives that proposes the budget, taxation, laws, and Judges, while the Senate ratifies.

Political Science practitioners know that the root of all the current evils are the Congress we elected, who answer to the Lobbyists. instead of the voters!

Though Democrats ‘control’ Congress, little is accomplished unless there is PORK earmarked for the home roost! Fair Tax time! http:fairtax.org will yank tax breaks out from under the feet of of the lobbyist-Congress coalition!

I can’t wait for the only chimp screeching I hear - all sounding like ’socialism’ - dies down.

That’s the best they can do, ululate puerile ’socialism’ cries, as their fearless leaders have nothing to offer except the same old hate, fear and smear.

Speaking of sitting there appalled, did anyone else’s jaw drop when all the old white people chanted ‘drill, drill, drill’? Sheesh. Talk about addiction. Whether we can educate people who refuse this sort of education (it doesn’t comport with their ideology) is another matter.

LIE number 5: I would just like to point out, as a Canadian, that directly after stating that Americans should not rely on foreign countries for oil or energy whatsoever, Gov. Palin stated with pride how she had a pipeline built to connect Alaskan natural gas to the American people. Well, we may not be a foreign “power” but, as you might imagine due to basic geography, by far most of that pipeline is in Canada, was built by Canadians and is Canadian-owned (TransCanada pipelines).

Palin is utterly boring. She repeats herself ad nauseum. The republicans run a useless platform, so in the 11th hour, they simply plagiarize the democratic platform and repeat it.

Just think, if the republicans get reelected and we get more wanton waste of huge amounts of money on ridiculous wars, these mindless crowds who are so eagerly listening to the same lies repeated constantly can feel happy and satisfied. Sure, they can’t go anywhere in their vehicles, they don’t own a home or have work. Sure, they are struggling to survive. But hey, be proud and happy because Palin dresses well and sounds confident!! Enjoy, Lou Dobbs!! Lou pretends that the democrats are no different from the republicans.

Really, republicans will get what they want and when they are miserably worse off than ever, honstly, they can be very very happy and proud because they voted for the chic woman who is a loudmouth. They voted for the team that are not afraid to openly lie and steal. And they got their war hero. Enjoy, folks. And if the U.S. is so bankrupt that it gets taken over by outside forces, well, it was an amusing experiment.

Sarah Palin may be an expert on hunting, but I think that’s where her expertise begins and ends. The Repubs are DESPERATELY trying to bulk up her resume while at the same time trying to minimize her gaffes and “wingnut-ism” (mostly by steering clear of the press - good move). Trying to use drilling to get out of this energy mess is as crazy as if we, on the eve of the IT revolution, said “the goal is to make more typewriters!!” (I can’t take credit for this line - saw this on CNN, some pulitzer prize winner who may be truly called an expert on energy). Other countries, such as China, are pulling ahead on inventions for alternative energy, and the U.S. is lagging behind. Incredible that an uneducated woman who may be more suitable to work behind the counter at Walmart is being seriously considered as VP of this country. God help us all.
