I'm so glad you are talking about Sarah Palin's lack of knowledge on energy and climate policy. As someone working in this field, it scares me to think that when she claims to be an energy expert, someone might believe her and listen to what she has to say. We need more people like you who really know climate policy to call her out and say "no," and tell the media the same. You made excellent points all around! Thanks

Why bother to listen to the speech? We already know what the McPalin ticket says about energy and the environment: 1. drill, baby, drill; 2. yeah, there are climate concerns, but let's not destroy our economy, and 3. drill some more. The solar energy company is a backdrop that is an attempt to appeal to moderates who just look at the TV while she is on screen.

Cruise control, yes. It is water resistance in guestion.

We must engineer the water resistance away. That is simple. Think of two big barrels tied together, between them a shaft. The barrel complex rotates around the shaft, the shaft moving at the water level. There is no water resistance in the rotation of the complex.

Water resistance is away in any speed: this ship makes 100 mile per hour with the same energy as oldfashioned ships 5 mph. Or otherwise: use 10 % of energy at 5 mph compared to the oldfashioned ships.

Don´t forget the potential energy of Greenland and Antarctic ice masses and fresh water in these sheets for all the world for thousands of years.

Joseph noticed at last the water in them, but why not the energy?

On Nov. 6, the Thursday after the election, I'm hosting a solar energy forum to provide fossil free energy to the Beverly Arts Center of Chicago. The Arts Center is very well suited for solar generated electricity. It has a large flat roof. It is an all electric building; not only lighting and AC, but heat also can be made fossil free. Illinois has mandatory buyback, a key to success.

I'd like to thank Joe and Bill and Kari and also David B. Benson, Earl Killian, John Mashey, John McCormick, Dano, Ronald and Robert for the inspiration and information that has brought about the Replacing Fossil Fuel Association. We're going to change the world one watt at a time.

I'm interested to see how the TV talk shows handle the speech, whether they have anybody who knows anything about the subject who can actually give a good review of the policy speech and what's wrong with it and how Obama can do better.

Palen for ambassador to Russia and W. as ambassador to Iraq.

Off-topic but Dr Michael Lardelli has a powerfull power-point presentation, available as a pdf from

http://bravenewclimate.com/

in the section entitled

CCQA6 Presentations Available
Posted by Barry Brook on 28 October 2008

with a clickable retrieval at Dr Lardelli's name.

Be sure to keep at it into the extra slides section to view the phosphate production prediction. Looks like we'll starve before becoming toast. :-(
