I am delighted that Obama won, as is everyone in the UK, and I absolutely hope that his climate policy starts to make a difference.

I just don't expect it to. Obama's aims fall far short of what is required. But maybe it is a small step in the right direction that will eventually lead to real change.

A small technical question. In the UK news they keep saying that Obama is the first black President. He has one white parent and one black, so how does this make him black??? Is it like mixing paint or something?

Joe,

With John Podesta at the helm, I again wonder if the Energy Future Coalition work can begin to emerge.

My vote would be that an updated version of the SmartGrid infrastructure investments emphasis (one of the subjects of that 2003 EFC effort), may well provide the best bang for the buck.
