another painful example of the presence of youth being used fof window dressing

take a look at http://change.gov/newsroom/entry/seat_at_the_table/ for what's coming

as I see it, this is where youth should focus on, leaving fossil ways of going about to the fossils

perhaps NOT attending sends a more clear msg than attending

Thankyou for this post. As a citizen of one of those US allies that is stalling negotiations (Australia), it is very useful for us to get information about what these delegations are doing.

SustainUS -- your work is much appreciated, unlike the work of the Australian delegation...

Go SustainUS (and Dominic! woo!). The climate movement is proud of everything you are accomplishing - and it is wonderful to hear of everything you are doing. Keep up the good work. I am intensely jealous :).

Dear Delegates of Poznan and Friends of the Climate Progress Community,

The human-induced predicament visible in our time to the family of humanity makes one thing clear: people with eyes to see, ears to hear and no speech impediments have got to speak out loudly, clearly and often now. Silence, the greatest power the rich and powerful possess, cannot be allowed to prevail. The reckless way a few people with wealth and power maintain a "golden" silence, one that protects their greed, gluttony and hoarding, is dangerous and cannot longer be endured because a good enough future for our children and coming generations is being mortgaged and threatened by these leading elders in my not-so-great generation.

Regardless of whether or not other human beings choose to accept the "answers" to one question, I believe we must ask ourselves, "Can we teach one another to live within limits?"

It is necessary, I suppose, for human beings to recognize and affirm human limits

and Earth's limitations

To do otherwise and, by so doing, choose willfully and foolishly to ignore the practical requirements of biophysical reality runs the risk of putting life as we know it and our planetary home as a fit place for human habitation in peril, even in these early years of Century XXI.

Good for you guys--you're doing awesome work, and making the rest of us proud.

And if anyone thinks that everyone who cares about climate is in Poland, maybe check out this, which arrived at 350.org yesterday from Ladakh: http://www.350.org/en/about/blogs/action-spotlight-350-climate-change-festival-ladakh-india. (Given relative pop. size, this is the equivalent of 2.5 million people on the mall in Washington)

Good to hear from you guys!

more here:

"Whose climate is it? Young people want answers for future"

We have been receiving many reports
from Poznan that many of the young people attending the climate talks
this week as observers and activists are feeling "left out in the
cold". They have travelled to Poland from over 50 nations. Let's hear
what some of them are saying:

"There has been a real contrast between the youth coming together and
putting their national interests aside and the failure of our nations
to break the deadlock," according to Paul Ferris, 23, from Australia.

"We need to break the deadlock before Copenhagen - there is so much to
do," says Leela Raina, 19, from India.

"We should have more ambitious goals," insists My Sellberg, 20, from Sweden.

Anna Keenan of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition had her own
opinion about all this: "All we need now is for our political leaders
to make the plans that we are already ready, willing and prepared to
implement."

"If things don't change over the next week, we'll be more disheartened
and frustrated and we'll scale up our activities!" added Paul Ferris
to the chorus of voices.

The future. It belongs to them. Are their elders listening?
