Terrific! I especially am interested in opportunities for underserved (poor) communities. I would like to see a program that brings labor and ecologists together. Out of that, a program that gives money to unions to train the poor and jobless to do skilled green jobs. From there, people will have union credentials and be able to build careers and unions will have sources of income for training and learn about the opportunities of a green economy. As well, ecologists who tend to be less aware of issues of labor and the poor, can learn to understand and gear projects for a larger swath of society.

Why does this call to action remind me of milk toast?

Does anyone know what that is?

Actually it is a powerful cure for childhood diseases, especially those of the early morning. The rule I lived under was that if you were too sick to go to school, then you needed to eat milk toast for breakfast. I was rarely sick.

So come on, can't we get a little more inspiring in our calls to action?

On the other hand, there is another post here at CLIMATE PROGRESS where there is a call to the barricades in the fight against coal. We need something in between these extremes.

60 organizations - great. Better would a nationwide petition of 100,000s that made national headlines, rather than a quaint letter. Obama organized 3,000,000 donors, so when will we climate folks use his unified web & organizational methods to start putting together some bigger headline numbers?
