Oh well, it is worth saying twice:

Rip-offset. Rip-offset.

Here's another article on the failure of offsets to work as intended, this time for offsets sold in Germany for development projects in China.

Ronald...

You'll find no disagreement from me. I tend to think that the representatives from the redder (Idaho, Wyoming, Utah) states have the longest journey. But as a Canadian — who nevertheless follows US politics closely — some of the subtleties of Blue Dog Democrats are lost on me... I know that many red states are way ahead of the curve, and some blue states are lost in the wilderness.

My only thought was to naively speak to anyone from Utah who might stop by... Not to make such a blanket generalization.

I always appreciate your insights here, on CP.

If it is a political message that's needed, we shouldn't just ask for Red State support for action against Human caused global warming. Kind of need a Howard Dean style 50 state political push. If only talking about National politics, there will be quite a few Blue State representatives who will vote against action on Human caused global warming.

Well then, let me be the first to welcome the good people of Utah to Climate Progress, assuming that at least some have followed the link posted in the Salt Lake Tribune.

And let me implore you on behalf of folks frightened by climate change: we need people in red states to learn more about global warming and what it will mean to our children. We need to hold conservative politicians to a much higher standard, to get them to stop fighting against the environment, but that message will — in all likelihood — have to come from the bottom up.

So please start following the issues Climate Progress and when you're ready, start fighting to change the world.
