    People are dying from mountaintop removal, especially children. This is no different from shooting them with a gun.

    Companies that are engaged in this practice should be prosecuted on criminal charges. A district or Federal attorney needs to step up and issue indictments for manslaughter.

    Mike: The way I understand it, corporations are charged with pursuing the “least cost,” maximum shareholder profit option in their decisions. Humanity does not enter the equation unless there is a negative cost involved. It is all very sanitary.

    I agree, Leif. Even RFK Jr. once said in a speech that corporations’ pursuit of maximum profit is somehow sacred.

    That’s why we need to sue and prosecute them. Defending themselves will cost money, too.

    I’m part Scandinavian too. I wish more people in the US understood the social contract as it’s interpreted there.
